Gear Up Ōtautahi
Gear up Ōtautahi is recycle/reuse community-driven project designed to help children and adults participate in sports.
Donate old, new and used sports equipment to the various Gear Up Ōtautahi wheelie bins around the city.

Eastern Winter Sport Cluster
Back in 2027!
The Eastern Community Winter Sport Cluster has been running since 2015. Last year we celebrated our 10 year anniversary of the Cluster. In 2026, over 1250 tamariki participated in the Cluster.
In School Sports Delivery
The in school PE & sport delivery initiative is one that Eastern Sport has been providing to the New Brighton community since 2011.
We have a strong emphasis on building self confidence, self esteem and co-operation.
TIMA - Adapted Sport and Recreation Term time
TIMA provides physical activities adapted to individual needs. We do this in a safe, fun, inclusive and integrated environment. Professional instructors run school holiday programmes and weekly basketball to small groups of participants aged 8-21 who have a disability. TIMA also provides leadership and educational opportunities for volunteers.

Nau Mai Haere Mai – The Walking Festival is back - 28 MAR - 15 APR 2026
Our walks are:
Dunes at Dawn Tuesday 8 April 630am meet at the Clocktower at New Brighton for a walk along the beach or on the dune track dependant on the tide on the day.
Beach Walk with Michelle Monday 13 April 10am meet at New Brighton Library. Walk your own distance. Contact Michelle p 021 881588
This is a regular weekly walk for older people.
