Internship opportunities!

Eastern Community Sport and Recreation (ECSR), is a community based organisation on the east side of Christchurch providing affordable and accessible sport and recreation programmes.  

ECSR are recruiting motivated sport coaching students looking to gain hands on experience. We are excited to offer internship opportunities for individuals passionate about sport, recreation, and community engagement. The internships provide hands-on experience in organising and delivering community-based sports programs & leagues, with a focus on increasing participation and engagement among youth.  

The internships start date/finish dates are flexible but ideally looking for students to start in March 2026. These are unpaid internships; however, mileage will be reimbursed for work-related travel. Certain activities, such as Pickleball facilitation, is a paid contractor opportunity. 

The internships are an excellent opportunity for those looking to gain practical experience in community sports management while making a meaningful impact. Previous interns have enjoyed themselves and continued with us in paid roles once they have finished their hours.  

Please find attached a basic outline of the internship. This may change depending on the activities available and the interests/strengths of the students.
