The facility is designed as a Sprung Structure. Over 12,500 structures erected in 100 countries from the world's leading tensioned membrane structure manufacturer for sports and recreation applications. Structures can be relocated, expanded, attached to buildings and given the post-earthquake environment this is critical.
The new facility provides an indoor sports hall designed for flexible multi-purpose use, fitted out for indoor sport leagues, indoor winter training, fitness training, with the capability for recreational indoor sports such as basketball, bowls, netball, indoor touch, volleyball, tennis, futsal, korfball, handball, pickleball, with lanes suitable for bowling and pitching machines for either cricket or softball.
RULES for use of Eastern Canopy
As a sport facility, the Eastern Canopy operates with covid vaccination pass requirement however the gatherings needs to remain under 100 people. Multiple gatherings of sport and recreation can take place at the same location if the groups always remain separated. If necessary please remove spectators to keep to the limits, mask wearing is encouraged.
There are no requirements for physical distancing while playing indoor community sport.
If you are not well, please don't enter the building.
Scan the QR code before entering or fill out the contact tracing form at the front of the canopy building

Use the hand sanitiser provided at the entrance
Net courts will have the beach end doors kept open so that we minimise our touch points
No spectators or supporters please – we need to keep the facility at or below 100 people onsite
Please don't make it hard on staff and look to follow the above requirements (no one really likes a rule breaker).

2 tensioned netted courts marked for indoor netball, dividing into 4 cricket lanes or softball hitting spaces

Wilful Damage
Any willful damage or misuse of premises or property caused by any hirer shall be the responsibility of that hirer. The hirer responsible for such damage shall be notified of the damage caused and requested to immediately make good. Failing immediate rectification by the hirer responsible, ECSR may elect to rectify any damage so caused at their own cost and all such costs incurred shall become a debt due and owing to ECSR from the hirer responsible.
