Past Project - $2 Pool at Rawhiti School
The “$2 Pool” arose from a need for the children of the New Brighton area to have access to a swimming pool. We received funding from 2013 until 2017 to operate over the summer months with a full time Manager and part time staff – all of whom were qualified surf lifesaving instructors.
We operated outside of school hours – and full time over weekends and during the school holidays. The “$2 Pool” attracted over 8000 visits in the summer.
The school now operates the pool only in summer term time for their students as we have the wonderful Te Tairoa QEII Pools now.
